Meeting Minutes from 12/11/06

 

Attendees: Michele Emery, Sherrie Holtby, Brittney Holtby, Parish Lessard, John Wellwood Sr., John Wellwood Jr., Frank Rose, Cathy Brown, Michelle Crovetti, Mike Stillberger, Cindy Flores, George Tasker, Carole Mahoney, jan LaPierre

 

Ø      Started with the reading of the minutes from the last meeting. Motion made and passed to accept

 

Ø      Treasurer’s report: Carole has so far an income of $9774 and expenditures of $7487 for the season. There are still a few outstanding bills to be settled. Ending balance so far is $11636.

 

Carole will have better categorization for the January meeting.

Motion made and passed to table the report until the January meeting which is also the year end close-out for the financials.

 

Ø      Old Business:

Dance Bill has been settled, back sneakers were cancelled and bill settled

 

Banquets: George will order the replacement nameplates.

                  Flag yearbooks still not sent out

                  Extra trophies and pictures for the JH were left with the scholl office for the kids to pick up.

                  Only one set of equipment from the JH team is still not turned in. Michele to follow up.

 

                  Flag Banquet: No issues to report, it went very well

 

                  PW Banquet: We need to go back and add the extra time in between the banquets

 

                  JH Banquet; The Knighting ceremony for the football team was very well received. Cheering coaches have requested that we try to implement something for the cheerleaders as well. Ideas are welcome……..

-         The league will no longer do any thank you gifts, just cards.

There is too much confusion over who should get what

-         Try next year to make sure that the JH trophies are the same or bigger than the PW

-         Huge THANK YOU to JAN for all of the work she did to make the banquets a success this year!!!!

 

Ø      New Businees ( thoughts on ’06 season )

      Mike has requested that flag start earlier than September to try to get a whole season in before the weather takes over. He has already roughed out a preliminary schedule for review.

      Collect money at sign-up time.

      Have sign-ups at the JH only and make sure that there is plenty of notification. (This is an issue every year however it is my opinion that we do a very good job but you will always have those few who say that they did not know )

      Add some insurance numbers to the initial paperwork that is handed out in May for those parents that have trouble with insurance coverage

      Add address, phone number and e-mail address lines to the current sign-up paperwork

      Have a training night for how to fit equipment properly

      Make sure that parents know to stay out of the equipment!

 

Coaches turned in their inventory and wish list for the ’07 season

 

By-Law Changes- Change to by-law that requires 2 signatures on all checks. Motion made and carried

                              Add 2 board positions as permanent- Fundraising and banquet. Motion made and passed with a 6- 3 vote

                              Carole  to try to find the original flag by-laws that were drafted for inclusion ( This is because Michele lost them in the computer crash of ’06 )

 

Returning Coaches – At this time it appears as though all of the JH and Cheering

coaches will return for the ’07 season.

                                  Need PW to check in and notify

 

Open Board Positions –

 

2nd VP – Daphne, thank you for your help you did a great job!!!

 

President – George would like to be the webmaster

 

Need to ask around for volunteers.
